Not Feeling It.

accountability change choose decide desired result goals habits motivation self-development transformation unmotivated Mar 13, 2022

I've been contemplating what motivation is and where it comes from?

I have been struggling with a few areas in my life that I keep saying I want to change and do differently, but the following day comes, and I repeat all of the same unmotivated habits. So nothing changes.

I have all of these great intentions in my mind, but they don't seem to translate to action.

And it's not like I haven't listened to or read books from the best self-development teachers.

Over the past week, I had a realization that I don't have any urgency or necessity to ditch the old habits and create new ones. It's as if my best life is living in my mind, and my real life is unwilling.

I know I'm not the only one struggling with motivation or the lack thereof.

There are so many tricks and tips on how to overcome the feeling of "not feeling it."

And the simplest thing I can break it down to is making a new decision instead of allowing the old conditioned habit to decide for me.

So starting tomorrow morning, here's what I choose to do differently:

  • Walk the fur babies for 45 mins in the morning.
  • Read one lesson in A Course in Miracles.
  • Do 20 mins of morning yoga.
  • Meditate for 10 mins.
  • Write in my gratitude journal.

I had to say it out loud. Letting others know publicly is a great way to help stay accountable to your goals.

Thank you for listening. Now it's your turn. Write down 1 - 5 things you want to do differently tomorrow, and then share them with someone who will help you stay accountable.
