accomplished action best self change commitment effort goals habits motivation struggle unmotivated Mar 04, 2022

I'm not gonna lie. I have been struggling with the motivation to workout.

Over the past year or so, I've noticed little things changing. It's nothing drastic, yet enough to take notes.

I keep telling myself, "Tomorrow."

Tomorrow comes, and I go right back to the exact same habits as all the previous days that have now become a year.

Not sure what the resistance is and why it's there. All I know is there is close to zero motivation to do anything about it.

But then I look in the mirror, and I know if I put even a little bit of effort, it would be more beneficial than nothing.

So what's a girl to do?

If I was giving out advice to you, this is what I'd say:

  • First, create an affirmation to help support your desired result. For example, "I AM willing to change my morning routine to include 30 mins of working out three times a week."
  • Put your goals into your calendar. And then set alarms as your reminder to show up.
  • Have a backup plan. If something throws your schedule off from achieving the goal, make sure to have a second time in the day to follow through.
  • If you keep not hitting the goal, make the time commitment shorter. So instead of 30 mins a day, try out 15 instead.
  • Make sure to have an accountability partner to help each other commit to each other's goals.

Now that I listed these out. It looks like we (or should I say I) have some work to do!

We can do it!!!

With lots of LOVE,
Teresa
