Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary!

Today is the day! It's my parents' 50th wedding anniversary!

What a tremendous accomplishment! And I know I'm one of the lucky ones who get to witness firsthand that kind of dedication and love between two people.

I grew up seeing my parents be affectionate, happy, creative, playful, moody, argue, forgive, and love.

My parents have taught me so many great things about life.

They taught me how to express myself. Whether it was good, bad, or ugly, they fostered a home with freedom of expression. Of course, this means there was a lot of laughter, playing, yelling, crying, and some more yelling.

Both of my parents are artists and cultivated imagination and creativity. 

I learned how to stay open and grow myself into becoming whoever I want to be.

I learned to be strong, independent, and honest.

I learned to be kind and opinionated, which can sometimes seem like they don't mix well together, but they can and do.

My whole life, I have felt nothing but Love and Support. This foundation has given me the confidence to be me and never hide. It's also given me the freedom to ask for what I want without stepping on others. And my incredible parents have literally been the launching pad for all of my dreams coming true.

I feel as if I won the parent lottery with the life I've had. I could not have asked for more encouraging, thoughtful, and loving parents.

Life has been good since the day I was born. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
