Who are YOU to decide?

The need to be accepted by others is legit.

And that need will talk us out of being our true selves.

It takes a lot of reflecting and seeking self-approval over everything else. This is a challenge for most because we are conditioned to do as your told, be nice, and follow the rules.

Unconsciously when we attempt to break away from other people's needs, agendas, and expectations, we are met with a backlash of unsupportive reactions.

Who are YOU to fall out of line? Who are YOU to not do as your told? Who are YOU to make up your own mind?

But this is where things get interesting.

For the past two years, we have been given the blessing of consciously unplugging from the status quo. It is one of the most magnificent blessings of our lifetime.

Through the lockdowns, Life allowed us to stop and reflect, "What do I want?"

Some people said, "I want my old life back. I want to go back to the way things were." And others said, "I can't go back to the way things were. So I must honor myself and walk a new path."

Both paths are the right answer, yet the new direction has endured some unusual challenges.

People on the new Unknown Road have had to navigate being canceled, marginalized, and discriminated against just because they are following their truth. It's wild.

The social pressure to conform back to the old way is palpable. And because of this spoken and unspoken attack on others who don't obey is there, it can make someone question who they are and what they want.

So either the choices have been to give in to outside pressure of how to live your life by their moral standards that shift with the wind or dig deeper and anchor your truth even further into the ground and don't comply.

Again everyone has an internal desire to be accepted. But the game-changer is asking yourself, "Accepted by WHO?"

The brilliant part is YOU get to CHOOSE.
