To react or not.

NOT REACTING to the news, posts on social media, and people in our lives are an art form.

It's called Living in Peace.

The higher our vibration becomes, the less we allow ourselves to react, lash out, and condemn.

With all of the world's polarization, there IS a way NOT to participate and fuel the chaos.

Here are some strategies that have been working for me that I hope will benefit you.

Keep in mind. You can apply these strategies to EVERY circumstance you find yourself defending and blaming. It doesn't matter which "side" or how "right" you feel about your situation. These approaches do apply.

  1. Limit your intake of polarizing perspectives. Especially the attitudes that are fueling your beliefs as evidence as "truth" or "right."
  2. Stop watching the news. Regardless of which "way" you lean, the news' whole agenda is to get you to react to the "injustices" of the day, hour, minute. They understand how to manipulate the masses through high doses of trauma and drama.
  3. Notice when you feel the NEED to DEFEND yourself or someone else. The feeling of maintaining your beliefs as "truth" and "right" is energetically at the same level as war. Think about that. Defense IS an act of war.
  4. If you find yourself in a confrontation, take a breath and pause. Then give the other person the space to speak while you begin to listen with your heart, not your subjective mind. This can be challenging, especially in the "heat of the moment." But effective listening is the way to understanding, having compassion, and respect.
  5. Give yourself permission to take the "High Road." There's a reason why it's called the "High Road" because it means you're not playing in the muck with others. If you walk away from an argument or fight, how can the war keep going? Answer: it can't.

The thing about Living in Peace is we haven't learned that it's possible because we've been taught to believe in our ego's need to be superior, righteous, and protect what's "ours."

Genuinely feeling at ease, in harmony, and joy is a practice unlike anything else. We must UNDO all of the closed-hearted and harsh behaviors and mindsets that are plaguing the world.

And the way to a better world begins with one person at a time. So let it start with you and me.

Release. The. Need. To. Be. Right... PERIOD.

With lots of LOVE,

Teresa
