Success leaves clues.

Part of my daily habits is listening to a slew of successful business leaders in the self-development world. And one thing they all have in common is attributing their success to having a Growth Mindset.

I know first hand the power of having a Growth Mindset as a professional dancer, but at the time, it wasn't called that, or maybe I had never heard those terms. In my personal language, it was called "being a student."

Decades later, I realize I was a consummate student of dance no matter what successes I had experienced. I never used a specific achievement or manifested Dream to kill my desire to become even better.

Having this insatiable need to improve is part of the intangible Magic Sauce to the list of victories in my career.

To be clear, I'm not saying that to brag, but to instill the power of having a Growth Mindset. As the legendary Tony Robbins likes to say, "Success leaves clues."

To take inventory of the trajectory of your life, here are some questions to ask yourself:

  • Are you feeling stuck in an area or areas of your life?
  • Is your self-talk more negative or positive?
  • Are you feeling blocked and stuck or confident and happy?
  • Do you have a morning routine that supports having more consistently fulfilling days?
  • Are you in your head trying to "think" your way out of your problems, or are you taking action to move forward and create progress?
  • Do you take time to listen to videos/ podcasts or read from highly successful people to learn how they "did" it?
  • Do you practice becoming a better person or better at your craft daily?

There's no right or wrong answer to these questions. They are meant to get you to analyze where your state of mind is living. And if you recognize you're having some trouble in your life, it's most likely because there's more of a Fixed Mindset behind it.

And suppose that's true for you once you recognize where you are mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually on an issue. In that case, you can start taking action by learning new ways to approach it.

Changing your approach, regardless if it works or not, is part of cultivating and having a Growth Mindset.

Another thing that most successful people have is knowing each of us is responsible for how our lives are turning out. That understanding of self-responsibility correlates to an individual's progress, success, and growth.

In a nutshell, your life's results are YOUR responsibility, and you have all the POWER to CHANGE it for the better.

Renowned  Jim Rohn says, "Work harder on yourself than you do on your job."

Who thinks it's time to get to work?

With lots of LOVE,

Teresa
