Off the Hook.

"Nothing in boundless love could need forgiveness." ~ A Course In Miracles

I read this profound truth today. 

I understood it by asking myself, "How can anything covered in love need forgiveness?"

The answer: It doesn't.

So why do humans need the tool of forgiveness?

Because we are not acting as if the event, person, or idea is covered in boundless love, we behave nowhere near love's vicinity. It's more like we walk around demanding each other to feel and acknowledge our pain. And where the suffering is, we can not be of our True Essence, love.

It's as if we're all in a catch-22. We full-on desire love yet withhold it from others and weaponize it, and then we call it forgiveness when we get the acknowledgment we're looking for in the first place.

We're all lashing out in the name of our suffering, begging and pleading for others to help heal the wounds. But that will never happen. Forgiveness from others is never as healing as we imagine it to be because true forgiveness is an inside job.

The ACIM quote Re-Minds us that boundless love doesn't NEED anything because it IS love.

So if we could find a way to heal our anguish through this powerful lens, we would discover everyone else is suddenly off the hook.

I don't know how we get there, but I know it's possible.
