Why is showing up the most challenging part about doing things we say we want to do?

I said I want to meditate and read every day, but the day went by, and I didn't do it. So I still have some time to get them in, but I'm only saying that because I'm telling you about it.

Where is that edge when we say we are going to accomplish something and then actually doing it?

I'm not talking about big lofty goals. I'm talking about the little promises we want to keep for ourselves. Like adding in workouts, reading time, learning a new language, study a new skill, or detaching from social media.

Part of me doesn't believe in motivation. Instead, I tend to lean towards the power of decision is where the gold lies.

Sooooo I said I decided I would meditate every day, yet it's almost midnight, and no meditation has happened. Grrrr.

It looks like our words are useless unless we actually accept them as the truth.

It's funny I have this sense in my body that finally says, "YES. This is what I am doing. And I am committed to following through."

The line of distinction for accomplishing our daily promises is this:

  1. First, get clear on what you want to achieve. Then write it down.
  2. Then say to yourself, "YES, that's what I'm doing."
  3. Feel the YES and the KNOWING you are going to follow through.

I think the last step is the reason we either excel or struggle with our goals. It's in the FEELING of, "I am doing this today no matter what."

Yeah. That's the secret sauce. Feel the YES to yourself.

With lots of LOVE,
Teresa
