I AM READY!

Not gonna lie. I pushed writing this blog post to the last minute.

And this is after having a huge ah-ha moment about why I have been late and procrastinated most of my life.

My friend offered to do some timeline therapy to help me gain some wisdom around the cause of constantly being late.

She asked me what some of my beliefs surrounding procrastination were, and the one that stuck out the most was: I'm not ready.

She had me take a few deep breaths and determine how I viewed my timeline. She then asked me to go to the moment of the first time I felt I wasn't ready.

That moment was apparent when I was still in my mother's womb at eight months.

My mom had an untraditional pregnancy. To make a long story short, my mom was unaware she was pregnant with me until eight months. So this was my first event of experiencing "I'm not ready." Yet it wasn't because of how I felt in the womb. Instead, it was because of my mom's feeling of anxiety and fear and not feeling ready for my arrival. And her emotions surrounding my arrival transferred over into me.

So imagine my life where I have rushed at the last minute to get ready to go somewhere, speeding on the way, and getting to my appointments after everyone else has already arrived.

That has been the story of my life.

And now that I have a new awareness around being late and procrastinating, I get to create new experiences of being prepared, early, and ready for whatever is in front of me.

And that feels amazing.

I know I started this post later than usual, yet I'm arriving at the end right on time.

With lots of LOVE,
Teresa
