Humanity NEEDS Curiosity.

Have you seen the documentary on Netflix about the Flat Earthers called "Behind the Curve"?

There is one thing I found interesting and it got me thinking. (No, I don't believe the Earth is flat. lol)

Although I believe the Earth is round, one of the things I found fascinating is their need, almost obsession, to question EVERYTHING.

This is the part that I completely agree with. The truth is every single person is conditioned from past beliefs from parents, friends, and society through generational and societal traditions, history, and genes.

For example, I am now an avid vegan, but there was a time when I ate murdered cow burgers, slaughtered pig bacon, boiled alive lobster tail. When I ate those precious benevolent beings as "food," I was unaware there was another way. My parents cooked it, so I ate it. There was no correlation between the beautiful, loving animal to the decaying, needed to be seasoned and cooked dinner on my plate. I didn't think twice about where, who, or how it got there.

That type of unconscious acceptance is how most people live their lives. We are all living unaware of WHY something is "normal" or "acceptable" behavior.

And that brings me back to the interesting thought process of the Flat Earthers.

As a whole, we have forgotten to be MORE CURIOUS. Unfortunately, being highly inquisitive is seen as "Conspiracy Theories."

But here's the flip.

As a person who is willing to go down the rabbit hole, there ends up being this rigid need to hold on to the polar opposite way of seeing things as actual "fact."

I'm not saying there aren't legitimate facts and truths for the more skeptical minds out there. But MAYBE the conditioned and the curious minds BOTH have fallacies and facts together?

Both are right and wrong.

As you can clearly see, I am very set in my beliefs about animal abuse used to benefit our tastebuds. But another person might have lived a different experience with killing animals for food, and they don't have the same outlook as I do.

Ultimately what's true for one might not be true for many. And that's ok.

I want to thank the Flat Earth people who hold the space for the rest of us to use critical thinking by analyzing the information and then creating our beliefs from there.

I think HUMANITY needs a heavy dose of HUMILITY, CURIOSITY, and COMPASSION more than ever.

Let's get CURIOUS!

With lots of LOVE,

Teresa
