Freedom Up Ahead

Today I had lunch with my friend Emily who I haven't seen in person in over a year. It was truly refreshing and energizing. We toggled between talking about our lives and sharing our views on political hot topics.

Anyone who knows me well knows I love a good debate. Lol. Yet we did more than that. We exchanged perspectives and gave each other room to listen, question, and disagree.

I absolutely loved it. We created a space to be honest with one another without judgment or triggering a reaction. And our conversation gave me hope.

It showed me it's possible to have open discourse with others. Without knowing it, I needed this beautiful Re-Minder.

She gave me lots of things to reconsider. And that's no easy feat y'all! Cudos Emily! Haahhahaha!

And then, as we said bye, she hit me with a gem.

It's okay to share how I see things as long as I am unattached to the ideas being received or accepted. I knew exactly what she was talking about. It's not the first time someone told me that. However, her words hit differently today.

I'm realizing it's not about changing people. All we can really do is tell our truth, let it land and be at peace with it.

This is good stuff. Real good. Freedom is up ahead.
