Free to Think.

Independent thinking is a strange notion. Mainly because we all believe we are individual free thinkers. But the more Humanity unravels, the more apparent it is we have been inundated with external ways of acceptable behavior from the day we are born.

We have been conditioned and brainwashed on all the social norms and cues as soon as we arrive. From being told what to wear, how to put it on, what to eat, how to eat, what to say, when to say it, what to do, how to act, how to play, how to share, how to follow the rules, how to make friends, and even how to be loved.

It's a never-ending list of acceptable social and moral customs we must do.

The idea of questioning these norms might cross our minds, but if you go too far outside the social circle, then you are no longer accepted and left to die.

Not to be dramatic, but that's exactly what is happening right now in society.

If someone doesn't play by the moral rules, then "You're OUT! Bye, Felicia!"

And these types of societal repercussions can stifle a person's truth. And this doesn't help us evolve as a Collective. We are meant to be FREE. Free to say whatever we want. Free to do whatever we want. Free to be whoever we want.

But again, we use a moral compass that's constantly shifting and then condemn.

The truth is this isn't coming from just one side. Almost everyone, myself included, is doing this at some level or another.

If we could all start taking note of where we are judging or condemning others, then we can begin to be a conduit for love, grace, and unity.

We can still not agree with others' actions while still holding space for understanding and compassion.

I know it isn't always easy, but it's definitely worth the effort.

Let's make space for those we do not understand.

Besides, we need more free thinkers. Those that are willing to shed groupthink.
