Undoing.

better life critical thinking fix growth mindset improve new rules open-minded release it self-development undo Jun 04, 2022

In the world of self-development, there is this insatiable desire to improve your life. Even people like Tony Robbins or my fav, Brendon Burchard, are constantly leading by example to get to the "next level." Of course, they consistently model the ability to walk the talk and show us how to become better in all areas of our lives.

Unfortunately, there can be this subtle and unconscious notion that we need to "fix" something, or worse, "fix" ourselves. And to be clear, I'm not suggesting leaders of self-development are telling us to fix ourselves. But I know at times, people like us who strive to improve ourselves can feel as if there's something "wrong."

Well, it's not about fixing what's wrong. It's about the undoing.

Undoing all the crap that we tell ourselves is true, like, "People won't pay that. If I say something, they might leave me. I can't." Undoing the habits that sabotage dreams before they even have a chance to breathe—undoing the conditional living created by someone else's rules. Undoing the need to be externally validated. Undoing the layers of fear that makes us play small—undoing other people's fears in the form of worry or concern. Undoing our thinking mind that analyzes everything—undoing the past pains that keep us stuck—undoing the emotional reaction to other people's choices. Undoing making decisions based on the morality of the masses. Undoing our beliefs about money, God, and health and undoing our attachment to needs that look like our dreams. Undoing everything we've ever been taught in school. Undoing the pressure to conform. Undoing the definition of success. Undoing the ego.

As you can see, there are layers to the undoing.

Your life isn't working out the way you wanted it to because your whole life has been played by rules you didn't make. Someone else, long before you were born, made up the rules. And I'm here to tell you you can't win at their game. So you have to create a do-over for yourself.

Again this doesn't mean "fix," I'm talking about how to finally own your life. One that is filled with happiness, love, creativity, laughter, excitement, success, health, money, and fulfillment.

Letting go of old ideas, beliefs, and habits create the space to experience a new and better life. Ultimately I believe this is what people like Tony and Brendon are telling us. And I have to say I agree.

Now it's time to undo, shed, and let go.

With lots of LOVE,
Teresa
