To the Finish Line.

creative process dance infinite possibilities move forward perfect resistance writers block writing Jun 08, 2022

I've started this post about three different times, and I realized what I was sharing was unimportant each time. Don't worry. I know how to be kind and honest with myself when the writing "isn't it." I don't beat myself up. I just take notes and move on.

It's okay to adjust even in the beginning stages of anything creative. Sometimes we think we have to follow an idea all the way through to know if it's working or not. The challenge in the creative process is knowing the difference between "it's not it" and becoming indecisive.

There is a fine line, but there is a distinction.

When you feel something is off or trivial, it's okay to scratch the idea and come up with a new one. The truth is you're an Unlimited Being, so ideas are in Infinite Supply. Sometimes holding on is the fear of not having anything else to bring to the table. Yet knowing you have Infinite Potential at your fingertips allows you to start over.

Then there are the times when the options can become paralyzing. There are so many available you don't know which one to pick. This is where some people get stuck in the creative process because they are trying so hard to find the "perfect" next step. But that next piece can't show up when the fear of making a wrong decision creeps in. So sometimes, just picking something is better than nothing. You can always edit it later.

When we create something new, there will always be some form to the question, "Is this right?" Yet it's choosing the next piece that moves us forward that gets us to the finish line.

With lots of LOVE,
Teresa
