Thank You, Florida

connection dance dance career deny gifts grateful inspiration stories talents Jun 12, 2022

Yesterday I wrote about my life-giving experience with Summer Jam 2022. And now, I had another day of breakthroughs while teaching at Motiv Dance Studio, which is about to change everything.

My friend Jeannie, who brought me to Florida to teach, created a space for me to Re-Member dormant parts of me and what I love.

Throughout the past two years, I was telling myself a story that my dance career was over. And within that story, I unconsciously said to myself that dance was over too. However, being here with my peoples this weekend made me realize my dance life didn't have to end too.

I thought I was starting over. I literally left everything I love about dance just because I knew I wasn't willing to conform to the industry's standards and practices. I attached my love for dance to my career.

And today, I realized they are not the same. Not even close.

So here's my declaration.

I am going to start a weekly class in LA every Sunday. It will be a safe haven for dancers to free themselves from the pressures of social media, tap into their truth, and fall in love with dance just for the experience of it. No one will care what others are wearing, who you've danced for or not, networking, getting your face seen, did you get the steps right, or how many followers you have. This dance experience will be about giving you LIFE back to your heart. (More info to come with this Inspired idea.)

Thank you, Florida. I'm so grateful to all the beautiful, talented, and courageous dancers I met this weekend.

With lots of LOVE,
Teresa
