Surrender. What does it mean to surrender?

The definition says:

  1. To relinquish possession or control of (something) to another because of demand or compulsion.
  2. To give up in favor of another, especially voluntary.
  3. To give up or abandon.
  4. To give over or resign (oneself) to something as an emotion.

Looking at these definitions, my next question is, "What are we giving up? And Who are we giving it up to?"

Okay, so if we give up control, control of what?

One of the hardest things about being human is wanting to control everything in our environment, including other people's actions, reactions, decisions, and beliefs.

We go into a spiral of turmoil when things and people aren't the way WE want them to be. So the idea of surrendering control is HUGE. We will NEVER EVER be able to control the external. If we practiced letting go, we would most likely save 90% of our pain and suffering.

The other 10% of the act of surrendering comes from "WHO" are we surrendering to.

Not only do we practice relinquishing micromanaging the world around us, but we also SURRENDER to having to KNOW what's next.

We give in to the Unknown, God, Life, Universe, Source Energy, Infinite Intelligence.

We surrender to forcing our way through life to get what we want.

We surrender to people pleasing.

We surrender to needing the answers to "Who, What, Where, When."

We surrender to Intuition.

We surrender to no longer needing to defend or explain ourselves.

We surrender to Life unfolding in Perfect Divine Time.

We surrender to living a Faithful life.

We surrender to keeping our Hearts open regardless of the outcome.

We surrender to Wisdom and Truth despite what the m(asses) say is true.

We surrender to being led by our Highest Version.

That extra 10% might not seem significant, but it makes all the difference in the world. Our world. And worth every effort.

It's okay to let go and NOT know all of the answers. It's okay to release ourselves from the pain of needing everyone else to be different. It's okay to let go.

So say it with me, in the words of Abraham-Hicks, "I give up, and I give in."

With lots of LOVE,
Teresa
