No need to FIX it.

Inspiration, please come to me.

This is my third attempt at writing about something, and none of it feels right or seems to flow.

Getting into Flow State is one of those things that feels so good. And it's painful when it doesn't.

I've felt this before. I've learned through the skill of choreographing that being blocked feels awful! When I create dance routines, I do my best to move beyond the resistance whenever I get stuck.

The thing I noticed the most was when that creative wall came up, my mind was determined to "fix" it. But in reality, it would only make it worse. I would find myself TRYING to connect the next move to the unpleasant block. Ugh. It felt like all of my life stopped, and I couldn't get back on track.

I would walk away, drink some water, move around, shake it out, and do anything that got me out of my head and back into my body.

Once I stopped using my brain to figure out the next move, my body would spontaneously flow past the energetic obstacle. Aaaaaahhhhhhh! The Relief!

And tonight is just like that moment. I sensed that my mind was trying to create this post, but I could feel nothing was WANTING to come out. I was stuck.

But here we are with words flowing out onto the page, and it doesn't feel sticky or ruff. It feels relaxed and as if I don't have to think about what's next. My fingers type away and flow.

These same ideas of being in flow can be used in other areas of our lives.

You see, when we have issues with others or circumstances to face, we get tied up in our minds on HOW to make it better. But that line of course correction typically bites us in the arse.

Our best bet is to walk away, take a nap, or do something else off-topic. Giving ourselves space for the resistance to dissolve so that the solution can enter into the equation.

Albert Einstein said it best, "No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it."

So instead of FORCING the solution from the thinking level of the problem, find ways to connect to the solution. This is a practice. But recognizing the block means there's another way to go about this. All we have to do is be OPEN to the NEW IDEA.

Trust me, the new idea is so much more fun than forcing the old one to work.

Moral of the Story: Be willing to walk away from needing to fix it.

With lots of LOVE,
Teresa
