Creative in Nature.

art blog create creativity daily dance give intention lessons learned purpose writing Jun 01, 2022

I have been writing Blog It Out with LOVE every day for a little over a year. And I want to share a few things I've gleaned from doing one thing on a daily basis.

  1. The act of writing daily isn't really about an end result. Instead, it's about proving to myself I can be consistent with something creative in nature.
  2. I have no gauge if the writing is any good or not. And I like it that way. I feel it keeps me innocent and naive, so I don't have the pressure to "perform."
  3. Looking back on the days when I didn't feel like writing and did it anyway feel really f^cking good.
  4. I never remember what I wrote until I reread it. Once the material is loose, it is forgotten. And when I read past posts, I'm able to remember what was going on in my life at that time. It's like my own personal time capsule.
  5. I get to let it all hang out. And that feels really f^cking good too.
  6. I never have a plan on what to write, which I love. I see it in a similar way to freestyling. I show up at the computer, and words come out.
  7. Sometimes I don't know if I'm writing to you or me. lol
  8. There are days when it flows like water and days when it's choppy AF. But I manage to always get to the end.
  9. For someone like myself who never ever wears a watch, this daily writing practice is a great way to implement a mini deadline.
  10. When I started writing, I didn't ask anyone for permission or validation. I just f^cking did it. And now it's become a compulsion, and I can not NOT write every day.

My intention is to share my thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about dance, life, and God (which are all the same thang anyway) and hold a space to be my honest self. And I hope you feel that. I hope you know I will always tell you the truth, even if it's rough around the edges. I hope some parts of whatever I share in each post speaks to you. I hope you find your piece of the world and pour into it as I do with my writing.

Each of us is here for a great Purpose (with a capital P), and it's up to us to discover it. But it requires time spent on investigating, staying curious, and allowing yourself to play.

With lots of LOVE,
Teresa
