A Love Letter.

I look back on all that I was blessed to accomplish in my career. I'm so grateful that I was able to live a full life of dance. It came with all of the ups and downs, the pain, the joy, the limbo, the focus, the winging it, the friendships, the loves, the dreams fulfilled, and the dreams lost. Wow. I am so grateful for all of it.

At times it didn't feel so good, but there came the point over the last 25 years that I realized it's all about peaks and valleys. And if you stayed in there long enough, the peaks were worth the wait.

Some people might say there was a lot of luck and good timing, but the truth is it was all God. I found the God in me and unleashed it without hesitation, need for permission, or validation. I showed up and showed out on 1000%.

Nothing else mattered. Nothing else existed. Dance was my life, the LOVE OF MY LIFE.

And when I think about the dance community, I know we share a tiny secret deep in our hearts. We are forever connected. Bound together. No matter what.

We can meet for the first time, and it will feel as if we've known each other for an eternity.

For those that are starting out, in the middle, or coming to an end, here is my message to you:

When you dance, let the God in you shine without hesitation, needing permission or validation. Dance because your heart will explode if you don't. Dance because you feel a sense of freedom oozing from your pores when you do. And dance because it is your Gift to the world.
